I love working with adults, young to middle-aged, of any gender. The primary diagnoses I specialize in include depression, anxiety, bipolar, and psychotic illnesses, I am currently building experience in other areas. I believe that once we have identified and accepted what we are working with, it’s much easier to find solutions that work; many people can achieve great results with therapy alone, but oftentimes the most effective approach is a combination of medicines and therapy both.
When I am off duty, I enjoy my time spent with my husband and two young children. I love the outdoors, and can be found gardening, or foraging for wild ingredients for canning, preserving, and cooking! I have a Bachelor’s in French Literature with a minor in Spanish Lit. – I also play piano (when I can find the time!).
I started my career as an ER nurse, then went into Emergency Medicine for a few years after completing my Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies. From there, I discovered I possessed a passion for psychiatry and completed the physician assistant fellowship in psychiatry at the University of Missouri. I am published in the Missouri Medical Journal with an article about intravenous Ketamine administration and am also a part of the research team investigating the effects of VNS devices on treatment-resistant depression.
