At Brave Counseling & Wellness, authenticity is key. We encourage you to bring your true self into our sessions. Our space is where you can be unfiltered and unapologetically yourself. Feel free to wear leggings, drop a few F-bombs, and share openly with a clinician who understands.

Getting Started

 

Welcome to Brave Counseling & Wellness, where your journey to personal growth and wellbeing begins. Taking the first step towards therapy can be both empowering and daunting. We're committed to guiding you through this process with compassion and expertise. . At Brave, we're here to ensure you have all the information you need before your first appointment.

 

Steps to Getting Started:

 

1. Complete the Consultation Form

Begin by filling out our detailed Consultation Form. This helps us understand your unique needs and match you with the right services and provider.

2. Schedule Your Intake Appointment

After receiving your Consultation Form, we'll reach out to you. During this call, you'll have a chance to share any additional information and ask questions. For counseling or ADHD coaching appointments, we'll schedule your intake session right away. For psychiatry appointments, Dr. Kingston will personally reach out to coordinate with you.

To reserve your appointment time, you'll need to provide a credit/debit card and complete the Intake Packet. You’ll receive a Welcome Email with a link to our secure Client Portal, SimplePractice, to complete the Intake Packet. You will be asked to  review and electronically sign our practice documents, complete screenings, and fill out our intake form. It takes about 20 to 40 minutes to complete the forms. We recommend setting aside ample time and completing these forms on your laptop or desktop computer at least 24-48 hours before your scheduled appointment. Taking the time to complete the forms, allows you to maximize your time with your provider.

 

3. First Appointment

During your first session, we will explore your current symptoms, history, and primary concerns, and work together to identify your goals. We offer both Telehealth and In-Office Appointments for Counseling & ADHD Coaching. Psychiatry and Medication Management Appointments are exclusively Telehealth. Verify whether your appointment is In-Office or via Telehealth.

 

In-Person Appointments: Arrival and Check-In

Upon arrival, please check in at our welcoming waiting area. Your therapist will greet you personally at your scheduled time. If you have any questions before your session, feel free to text or leave a voicemail.

 

Telehealth Appointments

We also offer Telehealth sessions through our secure EHR, SimplePractice. You'll receive a session link via text or email. Telehealth appointments are accessible from any smart device, with the option to download the Telehealth app for enhanced convenience. Download the Simple Practice App

Our coaches and therapists use Simple Practice for conducting telehealth sessions. You can use your smartphone, iPad/tablet, laptop, or computer. If you'd like to use your smart device, please download the free APP before your first appointment.
