Welcome to Brave

Beth Orns, MSW, LCSW

With many years of experience working with a variety of issues, I'm confident I can help you face your challenges. I love helping women thrive, couples learn new ways to connect and communicate, and supporting individuals with autism and mental health issues and their families.

Hi, my name is Beth, and like many of you, I am an overachiever and perfectionist who is working hard to be present in my real life. As far back as I can remember, I worked hard to make everyone happy and ensure I did everything possible to have the perfect life. Guess what? That “perfect” life I thought I wanted didn’t make me happy. Is chasing perfection exhausting you too? If so, I want to help you shed your unrealistic expectations for yourself and find a authentic way of living.

How often do you find yourself looking at the photos of people wearing things you wish you wore, doing thoughtful and adorable projects with their families, and achieving things that seem so amazing? Yeah, me too. It’s easy to see these perfectly curated snapshots as a bar that you should use to judge your life. The reality is that the perfect woman you are following on Instagram is a HOT MESS! She has help keeping things looking good, and she is still likely found crying in the bathroom, hiding in her closet so her kids can’t find her. Simultaneously, she watches a video on her phone and eats the good cookies she hides from them and is wearing yoga pants and an old t-shirt when the camera isn’t pointed her way.

Life is hard! There are so many things to balance and never enough hours in the day. Self-care often feels like one more thing to check off our to-do list. It feels selfish to do something for yourself. You are so valuable, though! Let’s start taking better care of you, and the bonus is you can check “attended counseling” off your mile-long to-do list.

If you want to start living your life on your own terms, I want to help. If you have no idea what you want to do with your life and need support figuring out who you are, let’s talk. If you want to build fulfilling relationships with other people, I am there to help you work through what is holding you back.

I love helping people live to their potential by exploring their stressors and mental health issues. I want you to feel empowered to be the best version of yourself at home, work, and in your relationships. I want to help you develop strategies that help you meet your personal goals. I want to support you and your partner as you tackle your challenges and find ways to love each other that work for you.

I get that life can be hard, so I will meet you where you are in life while gently moving you forward. Together we will figure out ways to overcome your challenges. I can’t wait to be a part of your journey!
